How does this gift help?

In Laos, pigs are a popular animal to raise. A dozen little piglets trailing their mother is a common sight in villages. Pigs help fertilise crops, breed with other pigs, and provide an important source of income for families once the offspring are sold at market. Providing piglets to poor families, along with proper training on how to raise and care for pigs, is a sure way to improve their wellbeing.

“I bought two female pigs ... the big female pig is now pregnant. When I have piglets I will sell a number of piglets, because I want to pay back (the original loan). I want have a stable new house. After I have paid back the initial fund including interest, then I can save the profits from selling pigs for a new house.” Od Malevanh, Nadokhoun village, Met district, Laos
