Education brings with it improved health, the chance of prosperity, and hope for the future.

It is hard for kids to get an education when there is no school or the basics they need are just not available. These can include such things as a teacher, clean water, toilets, school books, desks, chairs and blackboards. By purchasing some of the education items in Oxfam Unwrapped you are helping to assist children in South Africa and Cambodia to get and education.

Oxfam Australia works in some of the most remote areas of Cambodia to help improve children's education levels. There is a real correlation between lack of primary education and poverty. The education provided will be practical aiming to increase literacy rates amongst boys and girls and meeting the needs of the local people. If you want to make a change to someone's life this is a great place to start.

Oxfam Australia supports education projects in Cambodia, where many children - particularly girls - are unable to attend primary school. Working with local communities, we help provide school equipment, ensure that there is adequate clean water and sanitation available, and encourage parent's to become involved in their children's education.

Oxfam Australia also helps children in South Africa to attend school; particularly those who have lost one or both parents to HIV and AIDS. Our projects help to pay for school fees and uniforms, text books and pens.
